It was a glittering Saturday at Nehru Stadium in Chennai as the 61st Filmfare Awards (South) were announced. Graced by who’s who of South Indian film industry, including Kamal Haasan, Mahesh Babu, AR Rahman, Surya, Dhanush, Samantha, Shruti Haasan, Tamanna, Taapsee, Trivikram Srinivas etc. Newly married couple Chinmayi and Rahul Ravindran host the show.
Mahesh Babu walked away with the Best Actor Award for his spectacular performance in Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu whereas Nithya Menen was adjudged with the Best Actress Award for his role in Gundejaari Gallanthayyinde. Pawan Kalyan’ns Attarintiki Daaredi is declared as the Best Film and Trivikram Srinivas received Best Director for the same.
