The result of much-anticipated 2014 FIFA World Cup is out. Germany has defeated Argentina with 1-0 in the final match held at the Maracana Stadium in Brazil. Germany was saved by the bell. Thanks to Mario Gotze’s extra time goal which made it possible.
The two teams were locked 0-0 after 105 minutes of play and took two German substitutes to break the deadlock and give Germany their fourth World Cup triumph. The last time the Germans lifted the World Cup trophy was in 1990 beating Argentina with the same scoreline in Rome. With the latest victory, Germany became the first European team to win the FIFA World Cup on South American soil.
