Former Chief Minister of Karnataka and producer Kumaraswamy said to have given an irresistible offer to director Surender Reddy. Apparently, Kumaraswamy has come forward to pay a whopping Rs 10 Crore as remuneration for director Surender Reddy to direct his son Nikhil Gowda. And this is huge pay considering that Surender is being paid only Rs 1.5 Crore as fee for his ongoing film, Thani Oruvan remake, with Ram Charan.
The offer looks to be so good and we heard that Surender may take up the mantle to direct Nikhil after Charan’s film. While Nikhil’s debut Jaguar made with a hefty budget of Rs 75 Crore, the film tanked without a trace. And many in the T-town are wondering whether is it smart move for Surender to direct Nikhil after Charan’s film. Going by industry equation, it indeed is not a great move, but given the fat pay cheque, looks like, Surender would take up the mantle and helm the movie.
Although his last outing Kick 2 was a dud at Box Office, Surender managed to team up with Charan and needless to say that it is due to his low fee (besides Race Gurram sucess) that impressed Aravind & Charan to bring him on board.
It’s heard that Surender-Nikhil’s film will be Telugu-Kannada bilingual and may go onto floors in December after the release of Dhruva.
