How much does a person need to buy tea cups, cutlery plates and saucers? Well, former TNGO leader and Telangana Legislative Council Chairman K Swamy Goud spent Rs 1.5 lakh on the same. The Telangana government has sanctioned Rs 1.5 lakh to Swamy Goud for purchase of crockery and cutlery.
The amount was released on Friday and this has become a talking point in the media circles. It may be mentioned that erstwhile undivided AP government in 2001 had enhanced one-time grant of Rs 1,50,000 to Ministers and equal rank holders towards purchase of items of their choice like curtains, crockery and other minor articles.
Swamy Goud, who assumed office as Chairman of Telangana Legislative Council on July 2, sought sanction of one time grant for purchase of crockery and other minor items of his choice, as per rules in vogue.
